Rwanda Senoir Army Officers Arrested |

Two high-ranking officers have been suspended from Rwanda's military and put under arrest, a military spokesperson has said in Kigali Rwanda's capital. Those are arrested are Maj-Gen Charles Muhire who has been accused of corruption and misuse of office and Lt-Gen Karenzi Karake of immoral conduct.
This comes just days after a reshuffle in Rwanda's military leadership and ahead of elections due in August. Lt. Gen Muhire was just a week ago sworn in as the new Commander of the Reserve Force. He formerly served as commander of the Rwanda Air Force from 1997 until he was replaced in the recent military reshuffle.

Malian screen star Sotigui Kouyate, who was named best actor at the Berlin Film Festival last year, has died in Paris at the age of 74.
Kouyate won the award for playing a French Muslim waiting for news of his son in the wake of the 7/7 bombings in the film London River.
A former professional footballer, the actor began his career on stage as a favor to a friend.

Catholic Church Calls for Fedralism In Uganda
THE Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese, Cyprian Lwanga, has turned the heat on the government of Uganda by asking it to answer the Federalism question. The prelate asked the government to address issues affecting Buganda and Uganda. "There is need to work out an agreement between the Kabaka's government and the central Government on issues affecting Buganda and Uganda if we want to foster peace and stability in the country," Lwanga said in his Easter day message. Buganda is an indigenous Kingdom which has been on loggerheads with the Museveni government over the form of administrative system in Uganda. Many in Uganda have called for a federal system to curb corruption and devolve powers from the center but the NRM regime has turned a deaf ear on the calls despite repeated polls showing that the majority of Ugandans prefer a federal arrangement. The International Criminal Court has approved an investigation into violent clashes after Kenya's 2007 presidential election, raising the prospect that Kenyan leaders could face trial in The Hague.
ICC Prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo said on Wednesday the court had approved the request he submitted last November.
